Hiroshima Tips

Stay on Miyajima if you can

The island empties after 5pm. Morning and evening with the torii is magical and crowd-free.

Hiroshima okonomiyaki is different

Layered style with noodles, not mixed like Osaka. Okonomimura building has 25+ stalls.

Tram system is excellent

Covers the whole city. Day pass is ¥700. Suica/Pasmo accepted.

Combine with Onomichi or Rabbit Island

Both make great day trips. Onomichi is 1.5 hours, Okunoshima (rabbits) is 2 hours.
