How to Buy & Use
Purchase Online Before Your Trip
Buy from official JR vendors or authorized resellers. You'll receive an exchange voucher.
Exchange at JR Office in Japan
At major stations (Tokyo, Shinjuku, Kyoto, etc.), exchange your voucher for the actual pass.
Choose Your Start Date
You pick when the pass activates. It doesn't have to be the exchange day.
Use the Manned Gates
Show your pass to station staff at the manned ticket gates. No IC card gates for JR Pass.
